In becoming a developed country, we must build a nation that can continuously think critically, innovatively and creatively and be prepared to be knowledgeable and highly skilled workers for the country. In empowering the quality education system, teachers are strongly required to perform their responsibilities and roles respectively and accordingly. The teaching profession is indeed a challenging profession. This situation therefore has opened up the space for teachers to be exposed to the issue of work pressure. Various efforts have been implemented to avoid and reduce stress among teachers and promote a healthy work and lifestyle. Empowering spiritual intelligence is one of the best and most accurate efforts at this time in cultivating the ability to face challenges and further achieve each other’s goals. Therefore, this study is conducted first to view the level of role stress and spiritual intelligence among indigenous school teachers. In addition, it also examined the level of relationship between spiritual intelligence and the role stress among the indigenous school teachers. The research design is quantitative, in the form of correlation with a cross-sectional survey method using a set of questionnaires on a sample of 110 indigenous school teachers. The descriptive data analysis technique is applied via the SPSS software version 27. The finding of the study shows that the role stress level of the indigenous school teachers is moderately high (Mean=3.2636, S.P= .74046). However the level of spiritual intelligence is high (Mean=4.1800, S.P= .43700). Based on the inference data analysis, it shows that there is a significant negative relationship between spiritual intelligence and role stress (r = .0232, p < 0.05). In conclusion, although it is only at a moderately high level, this does not indicate that there is no role stress. It is still existed among teachers, but fortunately the situation is under controlled and not worrying. However, if this condition is ignored and improperly managed, it could lead to a more serious and severe implication.
